About Thomas Cox

I was born and raised in Beeville, TX.  Beeville is home to me, and I take a lot of pride in my home.  That means taking a lot of pride in my alma mater, A.C. Jones High School, where I graduated from in 2002.  After High School, I attended Coastal Bend College and then Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, earning 2 Associates Degrees and a Bachelors Degree along the way.  After being in both the public and private sectors of the workforce for over 12 years, I started looking for a more permanent career.  A conversation between myself and Asst. Principal Mrs. DelBosque at A.C. Jones resulted in my getting the opportunity to teach the Speech courses while earning my Certification to teach.  I have since gotten my Texas Teaching Certification in Speech 7-12 in February 2016.

I love being back at A.C. Jones, even though it's changed a bit since 2002.  I love coming back and seeing teachers I've taken classes under and getting to now call them colleagues.

I had gastric bypass surgery in July 2016, and since then I have lost over 190 pounds.  I am still overweight and have a long way to go, but I am continually making progress and am proud of how far I’ve come.

In my personal life, I love to read and study, especially the Bible and Christian History.  I love playing disc golf and bowling when I get the chance.

I married my best friend Andrea in December 2008.  We currently have no children, but we do have four furbabies, our Jack Chi mix-breed dog named Cali, our Pyball Dachsund named Quincy, a black cat named Coal, and a white kitten named Sweety.

Thank you for your interest!
