A.C. Jones High School is home to the Health Professions Magnet Academy (HPMA). The HPMA is an exciting opportunity and choice for students who are interested in exploring careers in the health care industry. The HPMA expands the existing high school curriculum by offering unique health science-focused classes. Junior and Senior level courses will be focused on earning state and nationally recognized healthcare certificates that include Certified Nurse Aide, Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician Basic, and Pharmacy Technician. The certificates earned in the HPMA will allow graduates to pursue employment as a certified technician in several different medical fields. Graduates who want to continue their education will be able to use their certificates to begin working while they are still in college, giving them a source of income and on the job experience. If you are interested in becoming a HPMA student visit with your counselor about the application process. We look forward to hearing from you. Invitation letters will be sent out in the spring to all students who meet the academic qualifications.
