I graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1974.
I started college at Bee County College in 1974 at the age of 16.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Corpus Christi State University, now known at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi.
My Masters of Science Degree was received from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
I have worked with Beeville ISD for 25 years. I am currently a counselor at A.C. Jones High School. My part of the Alpha is L-Q.
My teaching experience includes early childhood, middle school, high school, and adults. I began my career in 1978 as a substitute teacher fresh out of Junior College. I became a paraprofessional at that time and later went back to college and completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. I have taught PE, reading, ESL, Special Education, Speech, and Theater. I have coached basketball, volleyball, and Cheerleaders.I have also worked with Corpus Christi ISD, and private and government educational entities.
I have two wonderful children who graduated from A.C. Jones High School. I also have a niece and nephew I claim as my children who also graduated from A.C. Jones High School. My beautiful granddaughter graduated from Skidmore-Tynan High School and my loving grandson is attending Skidmore-Tynan Elementary School.
I have several granddogs that are very dear to me and have a big piece of my heart. I have a twenty year old cat that in mean and ornery still. My mustang is spoiled rotten and thinks she is a lapdog.
In my spare time, I like to go saltwater fishing, camping, and floating down a river. I also like to sew, quilt, and watch movies.
I volunteer with the Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show and have previously sat on the board. I currently am on the School Board for St. Philip’s Episcopal School and am on the Vestry for St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. I am also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and represent children who have been removed from their families and placed in foster care or kinship care.
