I first started to work at A.C. Jones HS as a substitute welding instructor, begining in 2006. I worked as a substitute welding instructor until 2013. From there, I became the full time welding insstructor from 2013 to present. I have been employed part time and full time with A.C. Jones HS for the last 12 years.
After graduation from Southwest Texas State University in 1981, I went to work in the pipeline construction industry, working as a welder’s apprentice. From that experience, I became self employed as an independent contract rig welder, welding on natural gas and crude oil pipelines, pipe fabrication in gas plants and refineries and oil field welding, connecting oil and gas wells to production and metering facilities. I welded professionally for approximately 20 years. This acquired welding background is essential in instructing my welding students to the level of safety standards and weld quality demanded by industry.
I enjoy hunting, fishing, car shows, air shows and Shelby Mustangs.
My hobbies include managing my ranch property, welding on projects, watching wildlife and spending time in the Hill Country.
